REMINDERS     

*SPARRING DAYS*
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
We will be focusing our classes on sparring the days mentioned above. Please ensure you have all sparring gear required for your belt level. Below is a guideline on what to expect at each belt.



IN PERSON CLASSES

*If you/your child are feeling sick, or have been exposed to COVID-19 or any other virus, please stay home! 


TESTING REGISTRATION
Our belt testings and prelims take a lot of preparation. Please register for your test before the due date! If you register before the due date, you receive an early registration discount!       



DROP OFF & PICK UP
*PARENTS MUST PARK AND WALK THEIR CHILD TO THE DOOR*
*Do NOT pull up in your car and drop a student off near the front of the door. It is not only dangerous for them but other students, parents and people navigating through the parking lot. 



STUDENT PORTALS:
*For all links & online registration to work properly, you must be signed in to your student portal*

MAKE UP TESTS
Students who are unable to attend the scheduled monthly test may schedule a makeup test for an additional $25. 

CODE OF CONDUCT
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for students, families, visitors and staff. Individuals are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all time and adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and/or local ordinances with regard to behavior. Failure to comply may result in losing the temporary or permanent privilege of viewing or participating in our programs. 



HYGIENE
Personal Hygiene: Your fellow students and instructors appreciate you keeping hands, feet and body clean; and fingernails and toenails short.
We appreciate your effort to keep your feet clean before stepping on the mats

Uniforms: A clean pressed uniform should be worn every class; new uniforms are available at the front desk

Under-Clothing: A plain SVMAA T-shirt (Tucked In) should be 
worn; please do not wear 2nd pairs of pants, skirts, sweatshirts or collared shirts under the uniform

Jewelry: For safety, please remove watches, necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings. 

Patches: should be sewn on as soon as possible; Replacement patches and sewing guides are available at the front desk.

Embroidery: Names should be embroidered on Intermediate uniforms and above. For a unified look, please use the dry-cleaners on the other side of Zanatto's

Sparring Gear (Hands, chest, feet, helmet, mouthpiece, shin guards, & cup/supporter for men) should be cleaned regularly.

BROWN TAPE
If you or your child have BROWN tape on your belt you may be eligible for color belt testing this month. For color belt & preliminary testing, please register online for testing by March 22nd.
   
  *Select the belt color you are CURRENTLY wearing! (Example: If you are a white belt testing for orange belt, you will register for the white belt test)*
   
   
SAT l March 15th Weapons Seminar: BEGINNER BO STAFF  
Saturday March 15th 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Purple Belts & Above

Learn the fundamentals of bo staff designed exclusively for purple belts and above! This hands-on workshop introduces fundamental bo staff techniques, preparing students for future black belt training and open-form creativity.

This seminar is a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, improve coordination, and have fun while learning an exciting traditional weapon. No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and be ready to train!

MON l March 17th Day Camp: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Monday March 17th
Per Day: $85
  Join us for our martial arts day camp! Fun, games, curriculum review, dodgeball and team bonding! In addition, the camp day will count as 2 class credits. Please wear your uniform and bring a packed snack and lunch.

Board Breaking IN CLASS: 
Saturday March 22nd

Board Breaking Day is here! During your regular class time, all students will have the chance to test their power, focus, and technique by breaking a board!

Board breaking is an exciting way to build confidence, precision, and strength—so don’t miss out! Bring your energy, and let’s see what you can break through!
